Jag och Virginie var ute i träsket (Sungei Buloh) och kollade in läget. Det var lite annorlunda mot tidigare gånger, för nästan alla de små vadarfåglarna var på andra breddgrader. Trots detta fick jag se några nya arter.

Copper-Throated Sunbird (hona)
Sunbirds kan sägas vara Asiens kolibrier, då de fyller en liknande nisch. De lever ofta i par. Hanarna är nästan alltid väldigt vackra och färgglada, medan honorna är väl kamouflerade (=grå) och kan vara svåra att artbestämma. Här vägrade den färglada hanen att samarbeta med fotografen, men honan satte sig på en pinne inte långt ifrån, så att jag fick några kort att bevara.

Den här kungsfiskaren är väldigt vanlig i Singapore. Trots det är den väldigt svår att fotografera. Trots den fina blå färgen är de duktiga på att gömma sig, och även om du hittat en, så är det svårt att komma nära dem. Ofta ser man inte kungsfiskaren förrän han/hon flyr ifrån sitt gömställe, sjungandes sitt karakteristiska läte (som låter som ett hånskratt).
